Community Support
As a proud resident of the Bar Harbor area, I take great pride in working with area charities and organizations as a way to give back to my community. Below you can find out about some of the great work done for our neighbors and fellow Mainers.
Maine Seacoast Mission
The Maine Seacoast Mission builds healthier communities, stronger families, and brighter futures—by land and by sea. In all they do, the Mission is committed to working with people’s strengths and to honoring the capacity of individuals to choose their own course in life. They design their programs so they will include as few barriers to participation as possible. For example, their free afterschool program includes transportation, and our food pantry operates the Sunbeam on Wheels, a van that delivers food and a visit to those who cannot get out on their own.
Bar Harbor Food Pantry
The mission of the Bar Harbor Food Pantry is to provide a welcoming environment for the distribution of food and other household products free of charge to Hancock County residents in need. The Bar Harbor Food Pantry has been serving under its name since 1996. Before that it had been run on an emergency basis only in the basement of the First Baptist Church. Today, with the support of local churches and other community organizations and individuals, we are able to help many families across Hancock County each month.
